The man is an absolute legend. For over 20 years, he made a habit of crushing the hopes and dreams of every fan base in the NFL. Every year it seemed as almost a foregone conclusion: if we want to win the Super Bowl, we will have to beat Tom Brady. As time moved on, the amount of legendary events involving TB12 kept adding up. Whether it be a moment ending in epic success like the 28-3 comeback in Super Bowl 51, or a historical moment where the Eagles won the Super Bowl for the first time as a franchise; the “Tuck” rule, Malcom Butler on the goal line, GRONK. So many iconic points in NFL history and Brady was at the center of them all. There is no denying that the story of football cannot be told without Brady.
It is a bittersweet moment, seeing the figurehead of a generation in the NFL call it a career. With all of the new and budding talent arising in league, it was only a matter of time until the old guard decided to call it a career. Seeing Mahomes, Burrow, Allen and so many other young quarterbacks putting the game on their shoulders, it is obvious that the game will be as exciting as it ever has been moving forward. Brady paved the way for this new generation of football and THAT may be the greatest mark he leaves on the game. Todays’ NFL has become a QB driven league; everyone is in search for the one who will be the constant catalyst for their team’s success. Everyone is looking for their Tom Brady.
So as the sunrises on this new era of NFL football, so does the sun set on what has been an amazing career for the greatest of all time. Thank you, Tom. Thank you for being the common denominator in most fan bases despair every season. More importantly, thank you for being the common denominator in making the game we all love, the best in the world.
